How It Works

Retraction pulls filament back to prevent oozing during travel moves. Direct drive extruders need 0.5-2mm retraction; Bowden setups need 3-7mm due to tube compliance. PETG and TPU need more retraction. Higher temperatures increase oozing, requiring slightly more retraction.
